41-year-old woman stabbed to death in Rainier Valley

Police are investigating after a man stabbed and killed a woman in Rainier Valley on Monday night.

At 10:58 p.m., officers were called to the 6900 block of Martin Luther King Jr Way South for reports of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they discovered a 41-year-old woman with severe stab wounds. At the scene, Seattle Fire Department medics declared her dead.

The suspect and victim’s shared children were present at the time of the stabbing, but they were uninjured.

Officers apprehended the 42-year-old man in North Seattle about two hours later.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit arrived to the scene and will continue to investigate.
