Two injured in Rainier Beach, North Admiral shootings Sunday evening

Sunday in Seattle, a 16-year-old kid and a 28-year-old man were wounded in separate gunshots, prompting a police investigation.

At around 4:30 p.m., officers were sent to the 9200 block of Rainier Avenue South in response to reports of a shooting. Officers on the scene discovered a 16-year-old kid with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. First assistance was administered by officers, who subsequently passed care to Seattle Fire Department medics upon their arrival.

Before being taken by private ambulance to Harborview Medical Center, the victim informed investigators that the incident occurred in the 9000 block of Seward Park Avenue South. The police recovered multiple shot casings and detected ballistic damage to an apartment unit at the crime site. Even though the flat was inhabited during the incident, no one was hurt.

Later, at around 8:00 p.m., police went to West Seattle’s Hamilton View Point for allegations of a gunshot. On arrival, officers discovered a 28-year-old guy with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The victim was brought to HMC for treatment by SFD medics.

According to the victim and witnesses, a group of males in a vehicle arrived and accosted the victim. Then, when the suspects fled in their vehicle, one of them shot the victim through the window. At the crime site, police discovered 12-gauge shotgun round casings.

Initial evidence does not suggest that these incidents are linked or connected at this time. Detectives will continue to investigate these current instances.
