Police Seize Gun, Drugs from Rainier Valley Robbery Suspect

On October 24 at around 9:10 p.m., officers responded to the 9200 block of Rainier Avenue South in reference to an attempted armed robbery. While the victim was pumping gas, a gunman grabbed and shoved her, and then attempted to steal her pocketbook from her vehicle. The woman was able to keep her purse and drive away securely to phone 911.

The suspect was recognized and detained at a residence in the 9500 block of Rainier Avenue South today. The 36-year-old suspect was in possession of suspected fentanyl and a weapon at the time of his arrest. Since he is a convicted felon, he is not permitted to carry a handgun.

The individual was booked into the King County Jail for the attempted robbery as well as the drug and firearm offences.
