19-year-old dies when her e-scooter collided with a car


After being flung across an intersection by her e-scooter colliding with a vehicle, a 19-year-old lady died.

At about 3.10 p.m. on Sunday, reports of a scooter and automobile collision prompted emergency services to be sent to the Kambah, Canberra, intersection of Drakeford Drive and O’Halloran Circuit.

The female electric scooter rider struck the automobile and was flung a “significant distance” across the intersection without wearing a helmet, according to the police.

After being taken by ambulance to The Canberra Hospital with severe head and leg injuries, the 19-year-old passed away.
