Zac Stacy has been sentenced to six months in jail

Former NFL running back Zac Stacy has been sentenced to six months in jail and one year of probation for two separate attacks on his ex-girlfriend Kristin Evans, the mother of his child, in 2021. In August 2021, Stacy was accused of physically assaulting Evans over rent money, with Evans providing photos of her injuries showing bruises and cuts.

Stacy initially claimed a video of the second attack had been staged to get money out of him. However, shocking home surveillance footage showed Stacy punching Evans in the head and slamming her into a television set in November 2021, all while their months-old son was present.

Stacy pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanour domestic violence battery and two counts of misdemeanour criminal mischief, with battery charges dropped as part of the plea agreement.

In arrest footage obtained by TMZ, Stacy claimed that Evans had staged the assault because he had denied her romantically and wanted money from him. Evans refuted Stacy’s claims and noted that the police appeared to be “consoling” him during his arrest. Following Stacy’s arrest, Evans released the horrifying video to social media and claimed that Stacy’s friends were hiding him.

Evans also alleged that Stacy had been abusing her since she was pregnant with their child and had been escalating the attacks. A Freedom of Information request revealed that there had been a series of domestic disturbance calls that police responded to starting in August 2021.

Stacy played three seasons in the NFL, two for the Rams and one for the New York Jets. He was arrested for the more recent incident upon arriving at Orlando International Airport on an inbound flight from Nashville on November 21, 2021. He was released later from Orange County Jail on a $10,000 bond and was ordered to have no contact with Evans.
