Watford will say its ultimate goodbye to Dot Cotton, according to a BBC announcement about a funeral episode.

A special episode of EastEnders will celebrate the life of enduring character June Brown, according to the BBC.

Her character Dot Branning, who emigrated from Walford to live in Ireland in 2020, will be laid to rest in Albert Square.

Dot Cotton, the chain-smoking laundromat attendant, was portrayed by Brown for more than 30 years until she passed away at home in April at the age of 95.

In 2008, she was the first actor to carry a whole episode by herself.

Brown, who passed away at home in April at the age of 95, portrayed Dot Cotton, a chain-smoking laundromat helper, for more than 30 years.

This winter, a special episode of EastEnders will air in which her character’s old neighbors learn of her demise.

The BBC reports that Dot’s funeral will be place in Walford as per her desires and that it would be a dignified send-off.

“For long a time, no one could even think of saying goodbye to Dot; a legendary character who will go down in television history and be adored for eternity,” executive producer Chris Clenshaw said.

While June was emphatic that she never wanted Dot’s time with us to come to an end, she also understood that EastEnders would appropriately bid Dot properly when the time came.

“Unfortunately, that moment has arrived, and we are determined to offer the audience who loved Dot for so long the appropriate homage she so richly deserves,” he said.
