“SunPass Savings” is a new toll discount programme for Florida Turnpike and DOT toll facilities

The debut of “SunPass Savings,” a new toll discount programme for users of the Florida Turnpike System and toll facilities controlled by the Florida Department of Transportation, was announced by Governor Ron DeSantis today (FDOT).

It is anticipated that this rewards scheme, which will start on September 1, 2022, would save SunPass passengers $38 million during its six-month duration.

Additionally, in order for more Florida households to get toll relief, Governor DeSantis urged the Legislature to take the required steps during the next legislative session.

In an era of rising inflation, this scheme will let regular SunPass users retain more money in their pockets, according to Governor Ron DeSantis.

“These savings will be beneficial to Florida families who rely on these FDOT services for a prompt commute to work.

Of course, we’ll work to pass legislation in the next parliamentary session that offers commuters further discounts.

As a resident of Miami, Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuez remarked, “I understand how challenging it can be to navigate the traffic and the impact using a toll road can make in the daily commute.”

The average cost of the daily commute will decrease thanks to this SunPass savings programme without sacrificing convenience or productivity.

In the face of escalating Bidenflation, I want to applaud Governor DeSantis and the Florida Department of Transportation for collaborating to significantly improve life for Floridians.

Customers who complete at least 40 paid transactions each month will get a 20% credit to their SunPass account as part of the toll reduction scheme.

Customers will earn a 25% credit each month if they have 80 or more paid transactions. Customers that use the FDOT Turnpike for their daily commute, on average, pay $50 in tolls each month.

Over the next six months, this scheme might result in a $60 savings for the typical commuter, and commuters who make more transactions would save much more.

You can find additional details about the initiative here, along with a map of the toll facilities that are involved.

According to FDOT Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E., “The SunPass Savings programme is a way for us to give back to our loyal consumers and thank them for their ongoing support.”

We are pleased to provide this additional cost-saving advantage on behalf of FDOT and Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise.

Customers that have accounts in good standing and utilise SunPass or another Florida transponder are eligible for the programme, which is applicable to two-axle cars.

In comparison to the TOLL-BY-PLATE rate, the SunPass Prepaid Toll Program provides Florida’s lowest toll charge. With more states to follow, the SunPass PRO® is compatible with E-ZPass and is now approved in 18 states.

The prepaid electronic toll collecting service known as SunPass is run by Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, the state’s toll collection company. Please contact 1-888-TOLL-FLA or visit SunPass.com for additional information about SunPass (1-888-865-5352).
