On Tuesday night, someone vandalized the Washington Monument by putting a splash of red paint on it and writing a lewd message. The person who did this has been caught.

The US Park Police in Washington, DC, confirmed that they had arrested a man they thought was responsible for the damage.

Photos taken from the National Mall showed a big spot of red paint at the base of the monument, along with a message that seemed to say “Have you been f***** by this?” and “Gov says tough s***.”
