Vladimir Putin’s former speechwriters says Putin still thinks he’s a KGB agent

Abbas Gallyamov, a former speechwriter for Russian President Vladimir Putin, has claimed that the Russian leader still thinks like a KGB agent, which may be why he is “trapped” in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Speaking on Radio National Australia, Gallyamov said that Putin “is not a politician” and reacts to external threats, rather than setting goals.

He went on to say that Putin is not a strategist and that he has no “plan B”. Gallyamov previously worked for Putin as a speechwriter for three years and is now a contributor for the Foreign Policy Research Institute.
