On Thursday, two persons admitted to taking President Joe Biden’s daughter Ashley’s journal and selling it to the right-wing political organisation Project Veritas weeks before the 2020 election.
In a federal courtroom in New York, Aimee Harris, 40, and Robert Kurlander, 58, acknowledged that they were involved in a plot to ship stolen goods, including the journal, from Florida, where Biden had been residing, to New York.
According to U.S. Attorney Damian Williams, “They even returned to seize more of the victim’s possessions when urged to do so after selling the property to an organisation in New York for $40,000.”
Harris and Kurlander were found guilty of a federal crime because they “sought to benefit from their theft of another person’s personal property.”
Although Ashley was never named as the owner of the things in court, information about the investigation has been available for months.
After relocating to Philadelphia in June 2020, she left the personal diary at a house in Palm Beach, Florida.
