Former US President Donald Trump said he requested his daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner to abstain from his 2024 presidential campaign to insulate them from the “nasty” political world.
On Monday, Trump claimed on his Truth Social page that he never asked the pair to join his presidential campaign in order to shield them from “false and corrupt news” and political figures.
Ivanka released a statement last month explaining that she will not be participating in the campaign, opting instead to focus on her children, as she was conspicuously absent from the Mar-a-Lago kickoff. Her spouse elected to attend.

Ivanka stated in her statement, “I love my father very much.” This time around, I’ve decided to prioritize my young children and the family life we are building.

Trump had reportedly urged his daughter and son-in-law, who have three children together, to join his team at the time.
