Tragic scene at Mardi Gras Bacchus parade in New Orleans as five people got shot

On Sunday evening, five people, including a small girl, were shot at the Mardi Gras Bacchus procession in New Orleans.

At the scene, police detained one suspect in connection with the shooting, according to a New Orleans police press conference.

The gunfire occurred around 9:30 p.m. along the parade route at the intersection of St. Charles and Terpsichore streets.

There were three males and two ladies shot. According to officials, one of the victims was a small girl. Each of the five patients was taken to a nearby hospital.

One of the victims is in critical condition, according to the police. The girl is seen as stable. Unknown are the conditions of the remaining individuals.

Two firearms were discovered at the site, according to authorities.
