LeBron James departed Sunday’s All-Star Game at halftime with a hand injury, according to reports.

James, a 38-year-old Lakers player and Team LeBron captain, scored 13 points in 14 minutes throughout the first two quarters, but TNT announced at halftime that he would not play in the third quarter. In the second quarter, it appeared that he jammed one of his fingers on the rim during a blocked shot attempt.
James remarked afterwards, “I did one small chase-down block and had my finger stuck in the rim, but I’ll be good.” “I don’t believe there is much cause for concern, but I’ve chosen to take the remainder of the night off as a precaution.”
He did come out and wave to the fans when he was presented by former Heat teammate Dwyane Wade during halftime, alongside Abdul-Jabbar and Jazz veteran Karl Malone, for breaking Kareem’s career scoring mark this month.
Before the game, the four-time Most Valuable Player stated that he would “not go too crazy” with his playing time. James said that the Lakers’ last drive for a postseason berth after missing out last year marked “23 of the most significant regular-season games of my career.”
James said on Sunday that he “would love to one day own an NBA franchise,” highlighting Las Vegas as an emerging sports city.
