Today’s murder of a businessman led to three arrests

Tumelo Phiri, the 45-year-old proprietor of By Hoek Lounge, was murdered at 1:05 a.m. on February 5 while he was shutting his company.

Earlier, a brawl reportedly broke out in the lounge, and when Phiri interfered, the suspect vowed to return for him.

Phiri was apparently shutting the By Hoek Lounge when he was approached by the suspect and shot many times.

A hand was also struck by a passerby.

In response, the police in Mangaung initiated a search for the culprit and subsequently apprehended a 30-year-old male in Mafora, Mangaung.

In addition, they apprehended two accomplices, ages 26 and 33.

Additionally, a prisoner was slain at the Mangaung Correctional Centre.

The three foreign nationals were charged with murder and attempted murder.

In addition, they were charged with obstructing justice and violating the Immigration Act.

Tuesday, February 7th, they are set to appear before the Bloemfontein Magistrate Court.
