Arrest Made in Kaduna State: Police Inspector Allegedly Attempts to Kill Colleague
The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a serving police inspector for allegedly attempting to kill his colleague while on duty in Kafanchan, Kaduna State.
The incident came to light when other personnel at the location noticed the officer’s suspicious behavior and intervened to rescue the victim.
The arrestee had reportedly intended to murder his colleague and steal his rifle.
In a statement released by the Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Muhammad Jalige, it was revealed that the attention of the command was drawn to a viral video circulating on social media, accusing the officer of being a serial police killer.
The distressing incident occurred on June 16, 2023, around 7:30 PM at the Police Mobile Force base of 62 Squadron Kafanchan, Kaduna.
Inspector Moses Paul, the accused officer, allegedly attempted to strangle his unsuspecting duty partner, Inspector Simnawa Paul, using a rope around his neck.
Fortunately, two other police officers heard the cries of their colleague and came to his rescue, preventing a tragic outcome.
The victim was freed from the attempted strangulation.
Additionally, the Kaduna State Police Command reported that they successfully foiled a rail line vandalization operation, seizing the conveyance truck and recovering related evidence during a recent operation.
