Protests have erupted at schools across the UK due to a TikTok trend which has led to outrage among students over policies that ban pupils from using toilets during class, require girls to show a “red card” when on their period and enforce skirt-measuring.
Videos of pupils rebelling against the rules have been shared on social media, with protests taking place at schools in Cornwall, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, and Essex.
Some students have been accused of causing chaos by breaking fences and flipping tables. Parents have expressed their outrage over the new rules and some students have been excluded for protesting against them.
The protests come after a policy that male teachers measure the length of girls’ skirts sparked outrage at Rainford High School in St. Helens, Merseyside.
