West Coast Winter Storm Piper brought nearly a foot of snow, trapping drivers in Portland, Oregon, and bearing down on Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Winter Storm Olive saw heavy snow in the Rockies, Northern Plains and upper Midwest, with parts of Utah seeing two feet.
A blizzard warning was issued for the mountains north and northeast of Los Angeles, and the storm is expected to continue into the weekend.
