Crocodile attacks man and eats his dog at North Queensland

Wildlife officers in far north Queensland have killed a 4.2-metre crocodile that attacked a man and ate his dog.

The incident happened at Bloomfield boat ramp, north of Cairns, as Alister MacPhee and his dog went for a Wednesday evening swim.

The reptile attacked Mr MacPhee’s leg and then snatched the dog underwater.

Parks and Wildlife Rangers later found the crocodile and shot it dead.

The dog’s remains were found in the reptile’s stomach. Mr MacPhee was airlifted to Cairns Hospital with leg wounds.
