The Prime Minister Boris Johnson speaks with President Zelenskyy: 7 July 2022

This afternoon, the Prime Minister talked with President Zelenskyy to underscore the United Kingdom’s unwavering support for Ukraine.

The Prime Minister emphasised the United Kingdom’s unflinching cross-party support for President Zelenskyy’s people and stated that the United Kingdom will continue to provide critical defensive aid for as long as it was required.

The Prime Minister went on to say that he will keep working with allies to try to break the grain blockade in the coming weeks.

He thanked President Zelenskyy for his efforts to defend freedom, as well as for his friendship and the goodwill of the Ukrainian people.

President Zelenskyy congratulated Prime Minister May for his bold action on Ukraine, saying the Ukrainian people appreciated the UK’s actions.

The Prime Minister concluded the call by complimenting President Zelenskyy, telling him, ‘You’re a hero, everybody loves you.’
