The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) set to hold a policy meeting on admission processes.

To kick off the admissions process into the country’s tertiary institutions, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set JULY 21 as the date for the 2022 admission policy meeting.

The Hon. Minister of Education will preside over the policy meeting, which will also include all heads of tertiary institutions.

In addition to setting the tone for the 2022/2023 admission process, this (policy) meeting will discuss important issues arising from the presentation of the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on the recently concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and Direct Entry applications.

The summit is anticipated to determine admission standards, provide application statistics and candidate performance, review the 2021 admission process, and map policy directions for the country’s higher institutions.

In addition to other discussions, the summit will adopt a position on acceptable minimum admissions standards to be used in all admissions processes carried out by all Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The meeting last year gave colleges the authority to determine their minimal cut-off marks for admission.
