The family of a Marine killed in the Kabul airport explosion has suing Alec Baldwin for $25 million.

The family of a Marine who was called at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, last year is suing Alec Baldwin for defaming his sister for taking part in the Capitol brawl.

The family of Rylee McCollum, the soldier who died in combat, has now made three attempts to sue the star. Previous efforts were rejected because of filing-process mistakes.

Roice McCollum, Rylee’s 23-year-old sister, describes some of the online harassment she suffered when Baldwin criticized her in the most current iteration of their case.

Before realizing she had attended the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021—roughly eight months before her brother passed away—he had sent $5,000 to the family’s GoFundMe account.

Are you the same lady who I provided the money to for your sister’s husband who was murdered during the Afghanistan exit? Baldwin asked in the comments of a picture on Roice’s Instagram.

Roice McCollum is suing Alec Baldwin for $25million. Last year, he shamed her on Instagram for attending the Capitol riot on January 6, and said he ‘didn’t know’ she was a ‘rioter’ when he gave her family $5,000 to help pay for her brother’s funeral

One of the 13 US military personnel murdered in the terror assault on August 26 at Kabul Airport was Rylee McCollum, 20.

She had published a carousel of three images from the riot she had attended the year before, none of which showed her face. A separate lady sporting a MAGA hat was shown in one.

After repeatedly pushing her to “own it” in private Instagram chats, he subsequently tweeted her account’s URL to his own 2.4 million followers and wished her well.

‘When I paid the $ for your late brother, out of great respect for his service to our nation, I didn’t realize you were a January 6th rioter,’ he wrote to her in their private chats.

She responded by informing him that she had previously talked to the FBI and had done no crimes.

‘Protesting is perfectly legal in the country and I’ve already had my sit down with the FBI. Thanks, have a nice day!’ she said.

Baldwin, 64, replied: ‘I don’t think so. Your activities resulted in the unlawful destruction of government property, the death of a law enforcement officer, an assault on the certification of the presidential election.

‘I reposted your photo. Good luck.’

On January 3, 2022, Roice posted a series of images from the riot on January 6 which she took the previous year. She posted them on her Instagram page along with the caption 'Throwback'. The photo above is not of her, but another woman present

Baldwin responded to her message and questioned if she was the “same lady” whose family he had previously given money to.

In the open, Baldwin said that it was “ironic” that she had been a rioter when her brother had died defending the nation.

Then, he told his 2.4 million Instagram followers her identity in a reply to her account in the post’s comments area.

Roice received a barrage of insults from online trolls, some of whom said her brother, who was about to become a parent when he passed away, deserved to be killed.

According to the complaint, Roice started receiving violent, aggressive, and nasty comments from his followers 20 minutes after Baldwin’s tweet.

Baldwin claimed to have found one of her posts on her account to be “abhorrent,” but she insists that he knew what he was doing with the initial post.

Jiennah McCollum, the Marine Corps Lance Rylee McCollum’s wife, is suing Baldwin as well.

She adamantly maintains that even though she was there for the incident, she didn’t participate in any rioting and was only a protester.

According to the complaint, “He fraudulently accused Roice of damaging government property, resulting in the murder of a law enforcement officer.”

Her brother’s widow has joined her in the legal action.

When it came to criticizing Joe Biden and the catastrophic military pullout from Afghanistan that resulted in Rylee’s death as well as the deaths of 12 other service personnel, the McCollum family was one of the most outspoken.

On August 26, 2021, they were destroyed by an ISIS-K bomber as they attempted to protect the Abbey Gate at Kabul Airport as tens of thousands of terrified Afghan refugees and foreigners sought to exit the nation as the Taliban stormed through.

The Marine’s sister and widow claim in their complaint that many of Baldwin’s supporters are Democrats who despise President Trump, whom they also back.

They contend that Baldwin’s comments on Instagram fueled the fires of the political friction between the two factions.

The family is suing the actor for $25 million in damages.

Because it was filed in an area over which the court had no authority, the lawsuit was first dismissed. However, the court warned the family that their action may not succeed since Baldwin can claim that his remarks were his opinion.
