Teenage boys are charged with murder in Queensland

Two teenage boys have been arrested and charged with murder in relation to the death of a 20-year-old man in Underwood, Queensland.

The arrest was made by detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch and Homicide Unit, who were attached to Operation Victor Vermillion.

The 15-year-old local boy was arrested at a Mount Gravatt East address, while the 16-year-old Logan boy was arrested at Millaroo Drive, Helensvale shopping centre, where police also recovered a black Audi sedan.

The vehicle has been towed to a forensic facility for analysis. Both boys were charged with one count of murder each, and their bail has been denied.

The 15-year-old boy was also charged with failing to provide access to data, while the 16-year-old boy was charged with possessing dangerous drugs – cannabis.

They will appear in Brisbane Childrens Court. The incident has no connection to organised crime or gang activity.

The police are urging witnesses to come forward, especially those with dashcam vision or CCTV footage of the incident.
