Queensland dad Jason Ross Allan Fourmile charged with the murder of his five-year-old son

Police believe that a five-year-old boy who died from his wounds in a north Queensland hospital after allegedly being subjected to severe torture by his father over an extended period of time likely endured maltreatment.

Jason Ross Allan Fourmile, the boy’s 24-year-old father, was charged with murder and had his case mentioned in Cairns Magistrate Court on Wednesday. He was remanded in jail after the hearing.

On Tuesday, August 16, the kid was initially transported to Townsville Hospital in a serious condition after being transferred to Yarrabah Hospital with life-threatening wounds.

The injuries that led to the youngster’s death, according to police, happened close to August 16. They claim there is evidence that the boy was subjected to attacks over a prolonged period of time.

It is everyone’s responsibility to protect the child, Detective Inspector Kevin Goan said on Wednesday. “Our message to the community would be that if you know people are suffering from domestic violence, or you are aware that there is excessive use of force being exerted on children for disciplinary purposes or otherwise, then it is incumbent upon everyone to protect that child.”

The boy’s father (Fourmile as pictured above) is also accused with causing great bodily injury, torture, causing great bodily harm while carrying a weapon, and causing great bodily harm.

On September 7, he will next be seen in Yarrabah Magistrates Court.

According to Detective Inspector Goan of the police, the evidence gathered up to this point indicates that the youngster was the victim of many attacks over the course of “a lengthy time,” one of which used a “implement,” as reported in the Cairns Post.

According to us, the accusations entail the use of an instrument that caused the youngster to sustain substantial injuries.

“Unfortunately, the injuries that took the small boy’s life are believed to have happened around August 16 of this year.”

They were challenging for the family to cope with as well as for the authorities looking into this case.

The suspected implement’s nature was not disclosed by the police.
