Jian Kayo, a 21-year-old aspiring Brazilian football player, was discovered dead in his house.
In his native Brazil, Kayo played for Serie B team Ituano FC. On Saturday night, he was discovered unconscious at home. The club, which is devastated by the loss of the young goalie, issued a statement after his departure.
The statement said: “Ituano F.C. announces the passing of athlete Jian Kayo Gomes Soares with deep sorrow and shock. In his home, a dead corpse was discovered on the evening of Saturday, August 18. Jian Kayo, a goalkeeper, was 21 years old and a Paraná native.
“He came for the Ituano under-20 team in 2021, starting the Paulista Championship that year, the So Paulo Cup that year, and the Paulisto that year.
He was elevated to the professional team for the 2023 season because of his talent and promise. We express our sincere condolences for this tragic loss and send our thoughts to him, his family, and his friends. The family is receiving all the support and care they need from Ituano F.C. at this difficult time.

Ituano defeated Santo Andrea 2-0 in an emotional home match on Sunday as they grieved the loss of one of their players.
Kayo began his professional career in the Sao Paulo youth system, where he rose through the levels until being let go in 2020. “So Paulo FC mourns the loss of goalkeeper Jian Kayo, who came through the academy,” Sao Paulo stated. “With profound grief and dismay.”
When Ituano entered the field on Sunday, tributes also came in from his friends, family, and teammates.
