Suzy Davies is appointed by the Secretary of State for a four-year tenure

Suzy Davies

Suzy, who has a law degree, has worked as a senior attorney and in arts marketing.

She has served in the Senedd for eleven years, during which time she served as Shadow Minister for Culture, Heritage, and the Welsh Language.

Since then, she has fought for more equality as a board member of the Women’s Equality Network and as the chair of the Wales Tourism Alliance, which promotes tourism in Wales.

She also serves on the audit and risk board for the Children’s Commissioner as well as the board of Colegau Cymru.

She was a founding participant in the Wales International Film Festival and is now a board member of the Iris Film Festival.

Suzy was reared in Bridgend, the Cynon Valley, Cardiff, and Brecon after being born in Swansea.

She spent time working in Swansea, Newton, and Aberystwyth before relocating to the Dyfi Valley, where her family owns a farm and operates a tourist company, and she also picked up Welsh there.

The annual salary for S4C Board members is £9,650. The Cabinet Office’s Governance Code on Public Appointments has been followed in making this appointment.

The Commissioner for Public Appointments oversees the appointment procedure.

Any major political activity that an appointee has engaged in during the last five years must be disclosed in accordance with the Code.
