Detectives arrest another suspect after student nurse Owami Davies cannot be found

As police continue to look into the disappearance of student nurse Owami Davies, a fifth man has now been detained on suspicion of kidnapping.

The Met police have disclosed that they detained a 27-year-old man yesterday on suspicion of kidnapping.

Three days after leaving her home, Owami, 24, of Grays, Essex, was last observed “in a vulnerable state” just after midnight on July 7 in Derby Road, West Croydon, South London.

Officers have currently detained two individuals on suspicion of murder and three individuals on suspicion of kidnapping.

Four of the people who were detained were later released on bail.

Police are also looking into a second, unconfirmed sighting of Owami that occurred on July 7 at 7 AM in Croydon’s Clarendon Road.

Through the police, Owami’s mother Nicol Davies has made public appeals for assistance in finding her daughter.

It’s a terrible time for everyone who loves Owami, and I beg you to call the police if you know where she might be.

“Every day we hope to hear that Owami is returning to us; with your help, it might happen.”

A month after the last confirmed sighting of the student nurse, detectives looking into her disappearance have renewed their appeal for information.

According to the Metropolitan Police, she had moved out of her Grays, England, home three days earlier, on Monday, July 4.

The investigation’s chief detective, Detective Chief Inspector Nigel Penney, stated: “This is a complex ongoing investigation involving a sizable number of officers.”

As we continue to look for Owami, “We are working tirelessly to follow every line of inquiry, including extensive CCTV trawls.”

“It has been a month since her last confirmed sighting. I have no idea how her family must have felt during that time. We continue to offer them all assistance we can.

“I am grateful for the assistance we have thus far received from the public, but I must once more urge for anyone who has information – however unimportant they may perceive it to be – to get in touch.”

The owner of a white van that was parked in Derby Road when Owami was last seen had previously been asked to come forward by investigators.

Just as the van started to move, she and a man crossed the street.

According to her mother, Owami was almost finished with her education and had accepted a position with Guy’s and St. Thomas’ health trust.

She was interested in conducting research on diseases because she had worked in A&E during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Owami, who goes by the name Princess because she adores Disney, had planned family vacations to Spain and Disneyland Paris.

Calling the incident room at 020 8721 4622 would be appreciated by anyone with information.

According to police, any information given would be handled delicately, and anyone coming forward to help the authorities will be given every assistance.
