Following an alleged armed robbery at a spaza shop in Madonsi Xikhulu Village, Limpopo, the suspect reportedly shot himself when he realized he was being pursued by community members.

On Saturday, July 23, at around 17:45, the suspect entered the neighborhood spaza shop and reportedly requested money from the proprietor.

Police claim that during the altercation, a customer saw what was going and informed them and other residents of the neighborhood.

The alleged robber, who kept firing at them, was being chased by the neighborhood.

The guy allegedly shot and injured himself after realizing there was no way out.

The weapon was also found.

The police started an investigation into a business robbery and illegal possession of a gun and ammo.

The 29-year-old suspect who shot himself is being kept under police observation in the hospital.

Once he has recovered, he is anticipated to show up in the neighborhood magistrate’s court.

Community members were crucial in another event that took place in Limpopo and resulted in the capture of two armed individuals.

According to Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, a spokesman for the Limpopo police, the suspects allegedly broke into a clothes store in a shopping center in Malamulele at around 12:45 p.m. and demanded money from the staff at gunpoint.

According to Mojapelo, the suspects left the scene with an undisclosed sum of cash and fired rounds at random before leaving the scene in a white Toyota Corolla while continuing to fire shots.

“Police followed the criminals’ footprints right away.

They learned that the suspects were traveling in the direction of Malamulele.

When the trio realized they were being pursued by the police, they allegedly sped off.

The suspects left their car after a motor chase and fled on foot.

“Three suspects, ages 29, 38, managed to elude capture while the other two were apprehended with the help of community people.

One firearm with ammo, cash money, and the getaway Toyota Corolla were all seized by police.
