Emer-G-Med paramedics and Netcare911 reacted to a shooting incident at a school in Durban’s Newlands West neighborhood shortly after 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
When officers arrived on scene, they saw a man in his thirties lying on the roadside near to a vehicle.
The individual had a single gunshot wound to the head and was in critical condition, according to a closer examination.
Emergency Medical Technicians worked tirelessly to stabilize the man before transporting him by ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment.
The reasons behind the incident and the events leading up to it are unknown and will be investigated by the South African Police Service.
