Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach is reportedly “critical” following a medical incident

According to a report, Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach is in “serious” health following an unexplained medical incident.

“Mike Leach needs a miracle, folks,” 247 Sports reporter Robbie Faulk tweeted on Sunday. “Continue to pray.”

Coaches from throughout the nation tweeted their support for Leach, the offensive genius who has won 158 games as a head coach at Texas Tech, Washington State, and Mississippi State since 2000.

Josh Heupel, the head coach of Tennessee, tweeted, “Thinking about @Coach Leach tonight. Coach, I’m praying for you.” Heupel was the Sooners’ quarterback in 1999, while Leach served as offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.

Leach, 61, was reportedly transported around 125 miles from his house to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

The university’s thoughts and prayers are with Mike and Sharon and their family, the institution said in a statement.
