The comedian attacked DeSantis for alleging he used government money to transport migrants to Florida.
No one intends to go to Florida, Colbert added. ‘You’re compelled to go there for two reasons: you’re dying and want to eat pudding next to an alligator, or you want to construct your own lightsaber at Disney. Four hilt styles are offered.

The leaflet touted migrant perks like ‘up to 8 months of monetary aid,’ ‘help with housing,’ clothing and food, and ‘work placement, retention and upgrade services.’
Attorneys for migrants sent to Martha’s Vineyard produced a leaflet Monday.
They described the many aid programs they’d receive upon arrival, despite islanders maintaining they had no warning.
DeSantis said the migrants consciously volunteered to go to Martha’s Vineyard.
They all signed permission slips. The Florida dealer gave them a map of Martha’s Vineyard,’ he added.
So it was voluntary, and the rest is garbage.
They said they couldn’t provide housing.
DeSantis said the migrants knew where they were heading and volunteered for the trip.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis slammed ‘opportunistic activists’ who claimed in a lawsuit he ‘exploited’ migrants he flew to Martha’s Vineyard.
The class action suit claims the governor ‘planned and implemented a premeditated, dishonest, and criminal strategy to exploit [the migrants] for their own personal, financial, and political purposes.’
DeSantis organized to fly 50 migrants to the upscale island off Massachusetts, sparking a political maelstrom over immigration.
His office said the migrants signed consent forms before boarding a chartered jet to the island.
His spokesman said the action is ‘political theater’ by ‘opportunistic activists’ at the expense of illegal immigrants.

It adds, “I agree to hold the benefactor or its designated agents blameless of any liability arising out of or pertaining to injuries and damages that may occur during the agreed transport to locations outside of Texas until the final destination in Massachusetts.”

Florida’s program gave them a fresh start in a sanctuary state, so they took chartered flights to Massachusetts.

‘Next, the defendants put class members up for free in motels, away from the migrant center and good Samaritans,’ the lawsuit document adds.
The DeSantis administration paid $615,000 for two private chartered planes to carry migrants to Martha’s Vineyard.
The defendants say they were directed to fly to Boston or D.C.
‘Defendants hid from Plaintiffs that they were supporting travel to make a political comment about immigration policy,’ the document said.
The migrants want compensation, emotional suffering, and punitive damages, their attorney bills met, and DeSantis to stop ‘enticing immigrants to cross state lines by deception and misrepresentation.’
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries dubbed DeSantis a ‘human trafficker’ after the act.

After being abandoned, destitute, and ‘forced to fend for themselves,’ immigrants have left Bexar County. As expected, Florida offered them brighter pastures in a sanctuary state with more resources. Unless the MA national guard has abandoned them, they have been given housing, food, clothing, and other resources after being unfairly enticed into the U.S.
