According to People magazine on Thursday, Gene Simmons’ daughter tied the knot with her fiancé in a Los Angeles courthouse on Feb. 17 and held a private ceremony with family and friends in her mother Shannon Tweed’s Malibu backyard five days later. Sophie, who is 30 years old, wore a blush Lahav dress, while her groom wore a black Tom Ford suit.
Sophie expressed her joy and satisfaction with the intimate and family-oriented space, stating that it is the perfect setting for her and James, her husband. The newlyweds will host a reception with 250 guests on Thursday night, and Sophie said they plan to party until the sun comes up.
Sophie and James’ relationship starting date is unclear, but James proposed to her in July 2022, which Sophie shared on Instagram, declaring that no birthday can top that moment.
Four months later, in November 2022, Gene, Sophie’s father, told Page Six that he did not feel “ready” for his youngest child to tie the knot despite her eight-year cohabitation with Henderson.
Gene and Tweed, Sophie’s mother, expressed their pride and joy for the couple, stating that James is a solid young man and Sophie can accomplish anything she sets her mind to.
They wished the newlyweds a lifetime of love and happiness, hoping they would be at least half as happy as they are and that their love would last long.
