Six Long Island teens arrested after damaging fences following TikTok viral trend “The Kool-Aid Man”

Six teenagers from Long Island were taken into custody this week after being accused of participating in the viral “The Kool-Aid Man” TikTok challenge, which involved running through and damaging fences, according to police.

The suspects, whose ages range from 12 to 18, reportedly filmed themselves bursting through the fences while mimicking the iconic Kool-Aid commercials from previous decades.

The incident was reported by a homeowner in Centereach, who called 911 after hearing loud noises in the early hours of Monday morning. The police later discovered that six young men had kicked down several sections of the homeowner’s fence.

The juveniles and an 18-year-old were charged with several counts of criminal mischief and released on Family Court Field Appearance Tickets, with an arraignment set for March 6.

The police are still investigating whether the incident may be linked to other damaged fences in the area.
