MOOSIC, Pa. — Former Yankee Shelley Duncan was hired on Friday to manage the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the organization’s top farm team.

In 2009, Scranton’s Duncan won the International League MVP award.

He will replace Doug Davis, the manager of Scranton for the past three seasons.

In 2015 and 2017, Duncan managed Arizona’s Class A short-season club in Hillsboro, and in 2016 and 2019, he will manage Arizona’s Double-A affiliate in Jackson.

He joined Toronto’s big league field coordinator in 2019, after spending the previous two seasons as the White Sox’s analytics coordinator.
