Pitso is in prime position to contend for the Saudi Arabian league championship

Pitso Mosimane, who was born in South Africa, is now enjoying a successful debut season with Al-Ahli Saudi. He is in prime position to contend for the championship.

Mosimane extended its unbeaten streak in the Saudi Arabian first division to 11 games after defeating Al-Hazm 1-0 with a goal from Abdullah Al-Mogren in the 73rd minute of a must-win match on Wednesday night.

This victory improved their hopes of promotion to the Saudi Pro League.

The Royal are indeed in the title race after bolstering their roster with the acquisitions of Gambia international Modou Barrow from Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors for an undisclosed amount on Tuesday and Brazilian Marcos “Marco” Amaral on Friday.

Al Ahli are currently three points behind Al-Faisaly, who they defeated 2-1 last Saturday at the King Salman Sport City Stadium.

Jingles, as Mosimane is widely called, signed a one-year contract to lead the Royal in September 2022. His objective is to return one of the most successful clubs in Saudi Arabia to its former glory after their relegation last season.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al-Ahly coach is accustomed to success, having won five league crowns and three CAF Champions League titles in the past.

Mosimane’s squad has a game in hand and would mathematically lead the standings if they defeat Al-Jabalain at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium on Tuesday.
