Senzo Meyiwa murder trial continues today at the Pretoria High Court

Senzo Meyiwa’s murder trial continues at the Pretoria High Court on Monday, 30 May, after a month of adjournment.

When the lawyer for four of the five men accused of murdering the former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalie was arrested, the trial came to a halt.

After informing the judge that he and his clients were getting threats, Advocate Teffo was arrested in court after the hearing was delayed on April 28.

The murder trial of Senzo Meyiwa seems to have everything but clean, and many suspect foul play after a state witness died two weeks ago, just before the trial resumed.

Brigadier Philani Ndlovu was scheduled to testify for the state and offer critical evidence. After Meyiwa’s murder, the 61-year-old former SAPS province head was among the first on the scene.

During cross-examination, his name was referenced several times, but the NPA claims he was not an important state witness.

The police officer died of natural causes, according to the reports.

Senzo Meyiwa was shot in a suspected botched robbery in Vosloorus in October 2014, while his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo and her family were there.

Mthobisi Prince, Bongani Sandiso Ntazni, Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli, and Mthokoziseni Maphisa are the five persons suspected of his murder.
