Sellafield Ltd has been listed in the top 100 apprenticeship employers in England for 2022

The Department for Education’s yearly rankings highlight some of the most effective national initiatives that aid aspiring apprentices in finding employment with top companies.

Sellafield Ltd. now has 600 apprentices enrolled in training and hires up to 200 apprentices annually through 18 schemes.

Around 200 apprentices across many professions, ranging from Level 2 (the GCSE equivalent) to Level 6 (degree level) courses, will complete their apprenticeships this year.

Head of education and skills of Sellafield Ltd., Donna Connor, stated:

Being included in the top 100 is a testament to our great training program, which we have developed in collaboration with a variety of training providers.

Our young people have an incredibly exciting future ahead of them because they will have the chance to complete the critically vital work of eliminating the greatest dangers to the nation and establishing a safe and clean environment for future generations.

We retain 95% of our apprentices when they complete their training, and over 33% of our current apprentice cohort is female.

The fact that our programs have been acknowledged makes me very happy.

This year, we had a lot of successes, including 12 Business Administration students. Louise McKain, manager of the business administration apprentice program, said:

For a number of years, Sellafield Ltd. has offered a lucrative business administration apprentice program that has been well-liked by individuals with various backgrounds and levels of expertise.

Our apprentices have three placements during the course of the two-year program, where they learn the skills necessary to offer high-quality business administration support to the management teams in a range of departments.

I’m delighted to inform that this year’s 2020 intake of students earned Level 3 Business Administration standards and City & Guilds Level 3 Diplomas, and for the first time, all 12 of them passed their end-of-course exams with distinctions.
