This Sunday, Sellafield will be featured on one of the BBC’s major primetime series.
A Countryfile report on the past, present, and future of the UK’s nuclear sector will focus heavily on the Sellafield plant.
Last week, a video team and presenter Tom Heap went to the Sellafield site in West Cumbria to capture images and conduct interviews.
The programme will explore Sellafield’s history as the country’s first nuclear power plant and the ongoing contributions it makes to the UK energy market through its services for managing spent fuel and waste.
For the programme, Phil Hallington, head of policy at Sellafield Ltd., was interviewed. The Windscale Advanced Gas-cooled Reactor waste repository and the Fuel Handling Plant were both used as filming locations.
