Through a fourth framework agreement worth £175 million over the following 17 years, until March 2039, Seddon Construction Ltd. has been chosen to fulfil the building fit-out requirement.

As part of a significant programme of procurements to enable the long-term delivery of significant decommissioning infrastructure on the Sellafield site, the building fit-out package is the fourth key delivery partner supplier framework to be granted by the Programme and Project Partners.

General construction tasks such internal walls, ceilings, screeding, flooring, painting, and joinery are included in the framework.

Seddon Construction Ltd. divisional director John Shannon said:

As a crucial delivery partner for the Program and Project Partners, this is a fantastic appointment for us.

This chance will guarantee that we can build lasting connections with other stakeholders, achieving successful results on the Sellafield site, and positively influencing the local and regional economies.

Peter Hogg, Project & Program Partners’ head of supply chain, continued:

We are excited to announce our fourth ongoing business relationship.

The Project and Program Partners model is unique because this company has never worked “within the fence” at Sellafield.

Giving new organisations the chance to collaborate with us so they can develop creative solutions to satisfy our long-term needs.

Together with Seddon’s supplier chain, this relationship will ensure improved project delivery as well as higher economic and social advantages for our communities.

The framework was acquired using the partners multi-project procurement (MPP) model, which promotes sustained cooperation throughout the supply chain, improved project delivery, and opens the door for greater social and economic impact in the West Cumbria region, where Seddon intends to establish an office.

Key delivery partners are being appointed under the MPP model to deliver work packages that include everything from cladding and steelwork to general civils and groundworks.

In order to fulfil Sellafield Ltd’s mission to increase sustainability, secure better outcomes for the local economy, and build a clean and safe environment for future generations, the partners will closely collaborate with all essential delivery partners.
