Search is begun following an attempted kidnapping of a girl at a primary school

As a result of an attempted kidnapping of a little girl from an elementary school, a search is underway after it was discovered that he had glanced at the victim from behind a toilet stall.

The unknown masked male entered Glenelg Primary School in Adelaide at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, according to South Australian Police.

According to witnesses, the child snatcher climbed up the stairs while classes were in session and took the Year Four youngster from a corridor.

She was taken downstairs, kicking and screaming, before escaping.

Police rushed to the school, but the perpetrator could not be found.

According to the statement, the man is 180cm tall, bald, and dressed in a long, light blue shirt, black leggings, a black face mask, and a beanie.

Police are requesting that anybody who saw the guy near the Diagonal Rd school or was driving close and has dashcam video contact them immediately so that they may study it.

According to a fellow student, the man had peered at the girl behind a toilet stall before attempting to grab her.

She said she had no idea who the man was and that she did not want to return to school because she was afraid.

As of Wednesday afternoon, security officers were stationed outside the school.

Shane Misso, principal of Glenelg Primary School, wrote to parents on Wednesday to inform them that the situation had been turned over to SA Police and the SA Education Department.

The school said the matter was with SA Police in a letter to parents (pictured)

‘We thank you for your concern, care, and patience as we work through the events of Tuesday, August 9, 2022,’ Mr Misso said.

‘Unfortunately at this point, we are not able to provide any further detail to the community.

‘When we are informed we can, we will communicate with the wider school community.

‘All communications are being provided through the Department of Education.

‘All children are accounted for and safe. Additional resources and procedures are in place.’
