Scottish social worker brutally beaten during a performance

A nasty group beat an unconscious Scottish social worker during a concert, leaving her with terrible injuries.

Ellen Clarkson, a 23-year-old from Broxburn, West Lothian, was out with friends on Sunday, August 21, at the Australian DJ Hot Dub Time Machine concert at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh when she claims a guy punched her in the face and knocked her unconscious.

Ellen reports that after being viciously kicked and pummelling to the head and face while laying on the ground, two women attacked her early on Sunday morning.

In addition to significant bruises, a dislocated facial fracture that may need surgery, and potential breaks to her nose, jaw, and cheekbone, Ellen also has extensive bruising.

According to reports, her boyfriend Cameron Hunter, 24, was also assaulted by the group and had face injuries as a result of being pummelling and put in a headlock.

Ellen, who thinks the incident could have been a case of mistaken identification, criticised the security and planning of the music festival on social media.

A probe has now been opened by Police Scotland, who said that “enquiries are underway.”

A nasty group assaulted 23-year-old Scottish social worker Ellen Clarkson, of Broxburn, West Lothian, leaving her with terrible injuries on Sunday, August 21, at a Hot Dub Time Machine concert at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh.

Ellen, seen in the photo, said that a guy punched her out cold when she was out with friends celebrating her birthday.

Ellen reports that while she was on the ground, two ladies viciously punched and kicked her in the head and face.

Ellen described her current state as “very painful and sore”: I want to share my dissatisfaction with the event’s planning. After the incident, we were instructed to contact 101 and report the crime since there were no police prepared to respond.

“The assailants were just allowed go without any information being collected.”

Additionally, I was informed by welfare staff that I could have fractured my jaw, cheekbone, and nose. However, no ambulances were scheduled to attend the event, so we were asked whether “my lift home” could transport us to the hospital.

The request to drive us to the hospital was made to my brother at 1am since there were no ambulances available.

They acknowledged knowing these individuals earlier in the evening after providing stewards descriptions of the perpetrators, and they were even searched.

They were permitted to go on with their night at Hot Dub without being asked to leave, which led to two more fights between my friends and I.

In an effort to find those responsible, Ellen’s mother Cassandra Jayne uploaded pictures of her daughter’s wounds on social media and made an information request.

In addition to significant bruises, a dislocated facial fracture that may need surgery, and potential breaks to her nose, jaw, and cheekbone, Ellen also has extensive bruising.

Her lover Cameron Hunter, 24, was allegedly assaulted by the group as well. He reportedly had face injuries after being pummelling and put in a headlock.

“My daughter, Ellen Carkson, was brutally abused at the Hot Dub event while out celebrating her birthday with pals,” the woman said.

A grown guy hit her in the face, knocking her down cold and to the ground.

Two women began kicking her in the head and face while she lay on the ground unconscious. She has suffered severe head and facial injuries.

They treated her in this way because they reportedly believed she had “battered their tiny sister.”

Cameron, Ellen’s boyfriend, was repeatedly hit in the face while being restrained in a headlock.

‘Officers received allegations of two persons being attacked in the Ingliston neighbourhood of Edinburgh at about 3.40pm on Sunday, August 21, 2022,’ a Police Scotland spokeswoman said in a statement.

A 23-year-old lady and a 24-year-old guy received medical attention at the hospital and were later released. There are continuing inquiries.

Police Scotland was approached by MailOnline for a response and an update on the investigations.
