Tobin Bell will reprise his role as Jigsaw in the upcoming “Saw” film.
The 80-year-old actor will reprise his role as antagonist John Kramer/Jigsaw in “Saw X,” which is scheduled for release in October 2023.
Bell’s return to the franchise accomplishes the goals of Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures, which were to create a picture that encapsulates everything “Saw” fans loved about the previous films while also keeping them wondering with a new puzzle to unravel.
Kevin Greutert, who previously helmed “Saw VI” and “Saw: The Final Chapter,” is the director of the newest installment.
Jigsaw is the primary antagonist in the “Saw” films. The former civil engineer with colon cancer decides to test the will to life of others through a series of lethal games.
The character appears in the first three “Saw” films before being murdered off, and has since resurfaced in most of the subsequent films via flashbacks.
Producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules exclaimed, “What a joy it is to reunite with Tobin.
His performance as John Kramer contributed to the phenomenon that is this franchise, and his character is an integral component of this film.
Bell stated earlier that he approaches each acting role in the same manner.
He stated, “I approach every job I portray in the same manner, whether he is a villainous character or not.
“You wish to know my identity? Aware of what I want, when I want it, and how I will obtain it.
“I ask many questions and then begin to answer them, which then generates further questions. You will never know all the answers by the time the camera rolls, but hopefully you have enough to be able to play the character without going nuts or feeling like a fraudulent actor.
