After six years of dating, Sara Bareilles announced on New Year’s Day that she is engaged to Joe Tippett.
“I consent to marry this man. It’s an effortless, well-deserved, unhurried YES,” the “Love Song” singer said on Instagram on Sunday beside a photo of the couple beaming while she displayed a gold leaf-shaped ring on her left hand.
Bareilles, 43, revealed that Tippett, 40, is “absolutely” the person with whom she desires to spend the rest of her life, adding, “The more I know you, the more I know I love you…and you have introduced me to parts of myself I was terrified to adore. And now, because of you, I love myself more. Therefore, this is primarily about myself. Just kidding.”
The Grammy winner closed her tweet with, “You are a gift. Let the games commence. “Forward in everything with you”
Tippett, who marked seven years of sobriety during the holiday weekend, also announced his engagement on Monday via Instagram.
The “Mare of Easttown” star captioned a photo of his new fiancée gazing up at the sky, “I’m going to marry this woman.” “I am anticipating all the tomorrows, the adventures, the laughter, and the love. Thank you sincerely.”
In the comments, Bareilles wrote, “Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee we’re doing it!”In August 2015, they met during an audition for “Waitress.” Despite having starred in the Broadway show at different times, they nevertheless managed to fall in love.
In September 2016, Bareilles and Tippett began dating, and in June 2017, they made their first public appearance as a pair at the Tony Awards.
