During a shopping excursion in Miami on Friday, Ryan Seacrest, 48, and his 25-year-old girlfriend Aubrey Paige were photographed in Florida.
After his revelation that he would leave Live with Kelly and Ryan later this spring, Seacrest was beaming as he was seen with Paige.
Having originally just contracted with the program for three years, Seacrest said on Instagram that he never anticipated staying for so long.
He congratulated Kelly Ripa, his co-host, whom he jokingly referred to as his “work wife.”
Since 2001, Ripa has been a regular of the program; somberly clutching his arm, she stated she “understood his decision-making entirely.”
After six years working with Ripa, Seacrest retires. Mark Consuelos, Ripa’s real-life husband and a regular guest presenter, will take his position. The program’s new name will be Live with Kelly and Mark.
Seacrest posted on Instagram, saying, “I’m going to miss my work wife and all the laughs we have.” It was intended for me to host “Live” for three years when I agreed to do so in 2017. But, I stayed on for an additional year last year since I enjoyed my work so much and getting to work with Kelly.
In addition to filming the next season of “American Idol,” Seacrest said he’ll continue to host “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” and host his radio program on KIIS-FM.
While saying goodbye is never easy, Ryan will be warmly welcomed back on a frequent basis. Mark has been a longtime popular guest presenter among the “Live” audience. According to Michael Gelman, executive producer of “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” “having him join the program is incredibly wonderful for us and we’re confident that fans will feel the same.”
The most watched daytime talk program overall and per household is Live with Kelly and Ryan on ABC.
Since 2001, Ripa has co-hosted Live with Michael Strahan and Regis Philbin.
Ripa made the following statement: “I’m very thankful to have spent the past six years alongside my good friend of too many decades to list and will miss beginning my days with Ryan.” Ryan has a unique combination of enthusiasm, passion, and love for entertainment.
