Russia attacks another section of Ukraine

Russian attacks on vital infrastructure in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and other towns were reported by Ukrainian authorities early on Monday.

Due to this, a portion of the Ukrainian capital’s electricity and water supply were shut off, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko. After the strikes, authorities warned that there would be power shortages in Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia.

According to Kyrylo Tymoshenko, the deputy head of the Ukrainian president, “Russian terrorists have again begun a large assault on energy infrastructure in a number of Ukrainian areas,” according to Agence France-Presse.

In the Cherkasy area southeast of Kiev, important infrastructure targets were also attacked, and explosions were reported in other Ukrainian regions.

According to local officials, the energy complex was struck in the Kirovohrad area of central Ukraine. According to Serhii Borzov, the regional governor, a missile that was shot down in Vinnytsia fell on residential structures, causing damage but no injuries.

The Kharkiv subway stopped running. According to Ukrainian Railroads, several areas of the country’s railways were also without electricity.

Two days before to the strikes, Russia accused Ukraine of launching a drone attack on its Black Sea Fleet off the coast of the Crimean Peninsula, which it had occupied. Russia nonetheless stated it was stopping its participation in a U.N.-brokered accord to ensure the safety of ships transporting grain from Ukraine, despite the fact that Ukraine has disputed the assault and claims Russia used improper procedures while handling its own weaponry.

Andriy Yermak, the director of Ukraine’s presidential office, commented on the strikes on Monday, saying that Russian soldiers “continue to combat with civilian infrastructures.”

Generations of Russians will suffer much as a result of their shame, we will endure, said Yermak.

Russia launched a tremendous barrage of attacks against Ukrainian infrastructure for the second time this month. Following an explosion on the Kerch Bridge connecting the annexation of Crimea to mainland Russia on October 10, a similar act that Moscow claimed on Kyiv shook the war-torn nation.
