An anaesthetist who allegedly raped a pregnant woman during a C-section may have carried out attacks on two more women

An anesthetist who is accused of sexually assaulting a pregnant patient during a C-section may have also attacked two other moms that day.

After allegedly secretly filming a woman at the Hospital da Mulher in So Joo de Meriti, Rio de Janeiro, being orally raped after being deeply drugged, Giovanni Quintella Bezerra, 32, was detained on suspicion of rape.

The woman’s husband was instructed to leave the room without being allowed to view his newborn child; he didn’t learn what had happened to his wife until after the doctor’s arrest, when he recognized him on television.

The delegate in charge of looking into the matter, Barbara Lomba, remarked, “I’ve never seen anything like it.”

The woman confided in her relatives that she believed the incident to have been a hallucination.

Just two months ago, Mr. Bezerra finished his anesthesia medical training.

According to reports, hospital employees installed a covert camera to monitor his activities because they were concerned about the dosage of medications he was allegedly giving his patients.

They watched in horror as he sexually assaulted the woman while behind a surgical curtain, less than a yard away, other medical professionals performed the C-section on her.

According to reports, he attacked her for about ten minutes.

Police are looking into whether two other women who were seen by the doctor that day for identical attacks were also raped, according to staff members who witnessed the rape.

Employees reported that Giovanni “wore an open cloak on himself, expanding his silhouette, and positioned himself in such a way that also prohibited anyone from seeing the patient from the neck up” during the second procedure on Sunday.

Most C-sections do not completely sedate the patient during the process, but the ladies who had surgeries earlier in the day reported being completely asleep.

“His voice is all I can recall from the surgery,” I said. One of the patients complained, “He kept whispering in my ear, and that upset me.” “He asked me whether I was alright.”

Since the allegations were made public, two other individuals who claimed to be Bezerra’s patients have shown up at the police station in Brazil.

Giovanni began making slow, back-and-forth movements with his left arm bent while still standing close to the patient’s neck and head, the witness reportedly told G1 Rio de Janeiro.

He appeared to be holding the patient’s head toward his pelvic area based on movement and the curvature of the arm, according to the witness.

The doctor’s practice of using so much anesthetic that the moms would be unable to hold their newborns after delivery raised suspicions among the staff.

President of Cremerj, Clovis Bersot Munhoz The claimed attack, according to Clovis Bersot Munhoz, was “absurd.”

The Secretary of State for Health and the Health Foundation of the State of Rio de Janeiro announced: “We tell you that an internal inquiry will be initiated to take administrative measures.

The victim’s family is receiving complete assistance from the Hospital da Mulher team.

“This behavior is illegal and must be punished in accordance with the law in effect,” it states.

Hospital staff received kudos from the police for acting quickly to report the incident.

The doctor’s custody hearing took place on Tuesday. He had previously been moved to the Benfica prison.

In Brazil, he is accused of rape and could receive a sentence of 8 to 15 years in prison.
