While on vacation in Mykonos, a rich 30-year-old American guy is accused of raping a British woman.
According to Greek media, the woman, 22, from Preston, Lancashire, informed police that she met the man on Saturday afternoon in one of the party island’s bars. The male is from an affluent family and lives in New York.
They allegedly returned to the woman’s hotel room because they all wanted to continue the celebration with both her and his group of pals.
She claims he followed her into her hotel room’s bathroom and sexually assaulted her there. The 30-year-old guy has refuted the accusations, saying she gave her permission.
The 22-year-old told Greek police: ‘There he forced me to have sex with him while I tried to push him away, explaining to him in vain that I was not in the mood for sexual intercourse.
‘But he persisted and with his strength managed to squeeze me and immobilise me,’ Greek news outlet Proto Thema reported.
A complaint was filed against the woman’s alleged American rapist after the victim underwent a forensic test with the Mykonos Police Department.
The accused will appear before the prosecutor in Syros First Instance.
Another Danish woman, 22, claims she was raped on Saturday night. According to Proto Thema, the man drove her back to her hotel in the Argyraina neighbourhood after meeting her in Mykonos Town, where she claims he forced her to have sex with him.
A British father was only just charged with raping his own daughter on a different Greek island.
Another British traveller claimed in early June that her taxi driver in Crete had assaulted her after picking her up from a pub in the early hours of May 31.
The 43-year-old woman reported the incident to authorities in the tourist destination of Hersonissos, alleging that the driver had raped her inside the car rather than driving her to her hotel.
According to a police source, a British mother informed Corfu police earlier in May that she woke up after a night out to find a hotel employee on top of her.
A 40-year-old man who was detained by police allegedly rejected the allegations and said the intercourse had been consensual, according to a police source.
Officers described the woman as being in “bad condition” when she arrived. She proceeded to a police station in the island’s northern region to report the incident and later named the hotel employee hauled in by police as her accused assailant.
According to a police source who spoke to The Sun, the woman and her boyfriend had been on vacation in northern Corfu.
The pair returned to the hotel after a night out, but when the woman woke up, the man was on top of her, the insider claimed.
