Robert Marawa, a renowned sportscaster, has joined Primedia’s 947 and will begin broadcasting on February 1.
Lindile Xoko, the chief executive officer of Primedia broadcasting, stated that the company has inked an exclusive agreement with the iconic sports commentator for his acclaimed sports program, Marawa Sports Worldwide (#MSW).
The program, which will air weekdays from 6 to 7 p.m., will also be available on Vuma FM, Rise FM, SowetanLive, and Primedia’s audio-streaming and on-demand services.
“I am thrilled that Primedia has joined forces with Robert Marawa, a famous sports authority and broadcaster who is recognized internationally. The huge reach that the 947 audiences provide to our clients is now matched by our hosting of Robert’s best sports show,” Xoko explained.
Marawa stated, “My relocation to Primedia is both historic and thrilling for all MSW fans, especially those in Gauteng who have been grumbling about being left out.
“I’m grateful to Arena and Primedia for their forward-thinking vision in creating four distinct platforms, so making radio history with this unprecedented simulcast offering.

The sports program will feature discussions on sports administration and development. MSW will also examine real-life examples of how sport assists people and communities in escaping poverty.
It will also include behind-the-scenes accounts of the difficulties, tragedies, and triumphs of both legendary athletes and rising stars.
