Reappointment of Dr Lesley Rushton, OBE as Chair of the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council

Dr. Lesley Rushton has been reappointed for another two years as Chair of the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council.

We are pleased to announce, on behalf of the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, that Dr. Lesley Rushton will continue to serve as Chair of the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council for a further two years beginning on 1 April 2023.

Dr. Rushton has served as the Chair of the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council since 1 April 2018 and is thrilled to have been reappointed for a further two years, until 31 March 2025. Dr Rushton remarked,

I’m ecstatic to continue serving as chair of this important committee, which for the past five years has been highly engaged in analyzing research pertaining to numerous serious occupational dangers, in particular Covid’s aftereffects.

She is an Emeritus Reader in Occupational Epidemiology in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Imperial College London, with over 30 years of experience in occupational, environmental, and public health. Her expertise is in epidemiological and statistical research investigating environmental and occupational causes of ill health.
