GAD announces reappointment of non-executive director Ian Wilson for another 3 year term

Ian Wilson has been reappointed by the Government Actuary’s Department (GAD) as a non-executive director.

Ian has held a variety of positions in the public and commercial sectors, making him an accomplished non-executive director.

He has an accounting background and has held the positions of Senior Director of Global Business Services at Hewlett Packard and Director of Business Support Services at Network Rail.

Ian has been reappointed for a second term and has served as a non-executive director of GAD since September 2019.

Martin Clarke, the Government Actuary, commented on the nomination and noted that Ian has been a thoughtful and helpful member of the GAD Management Board due to his commercial and non-executive experience.

Throughout his second term, I’m looking forward to doing more business with him.

Extended appointment
For an additional three years, starting in August 2025, Ian will support the Management Board and serve as Chair of the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee.

The Commissioner for Public Appointments’ guidelines have been followed in making this reappointment.

At GAD, every appointment is given based on merit.

Ian Wilson has acknowledged that throughout the past five years, he has not participated in any political activities.
