National Highways has hired a new non-executive director

More than 4,300 miles of England’s principal A-roads and motorways are operated, maintained, and improved by National Highways.

Diego has extensive expertise in global leadership positions in the technology industry, having served for six years as Facebook’s regional director for EMEA.

He is presently the co-founder and CEO of Glue, a business that links actual physical objects to the internet so they can all gather and share data.

Diego is also a limited partner at the venture capital (VC) funds Wamda Capital, White Star Capital, and Earlybird Venture Capital.

National Highways Chairman Dipesh J Shah OBE said:

I am delighted to welcome Diego to the Board. Now, more than ever, digital technology will transform how we build, maintain, operate and use our roads and play a vital role in making them safer, greener and cleaner. Diego’s extensive experience will help us on our journey, and in particular, how we connect with our customers, the users of our roads.

Diego said:

I’m honoured to join the National Highways’ board and am looking forward to helping connect people and communities more safely, efficiently and sustainably. In particular, I’m looking forward to help to improve customer experience using technology.
